In the fall, the band works on our marching show. Every year, we pick a new show theme and we work strenuously for months on perfecting our music and our marching. We take pride in representing our school while playing in the stands, performing at half-times, and at our annual competitions. We are 'The Pride of The Prairie'.
Once marching season is over, we are now in concert season. During this time, which is roughly from the end of November until the end of May, we prepare anywhere from three to five pieces of music. These pieces typically consist of an overture, a march, and a miscellaneous piece. Mr. Head will choose the pieces that we play in both our Christmas and Spring concerts. Typically, our pieces will be seasonal. In the spring, the band will practice for months to prepare for concert assessment. While there, we will be judged on our performances on each song. Concert season draws an end to the school year for the band.
